SMTP Auth and SSL

Covenant ISP email may also be configured for SMTP Authentication and SSL encryption for outgoing email. Please note that SMTP Auth and SSL are optional and are not required to use Covenant ISP email.

For further information and setup instructions, see the links below. NOTE: Please configure SMTP Auth or SSL after first configuring your email program for your Covenant ISP email.

    To setup a new account in Entourage 2001:

    Open Entourage. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.

    On the Mail tab, click New to start the Account Setup Assistant.

    Type your name in the Your Name box. This is the name that users see when they receive messages from you. Click the arrow to advance to the next screen.

    Enter your email address into the the E-mail Address box, and then click the arrow to advance to the next screen.

    In the Mail Servers dialog box, click POP from the My Incoming Mail Server list. Enter your mail server into the Incoming and Outgoing mail server boxes. Click here for the list of Covenant ISP mail servers. Click the arrow to advance to the next screen.

    Enter your email username or Covenant ISP email address in the format of username@ Covenant ISP.net into the Account ID box, and your password into the Password box in lowercase letters. Check the Save Password box if you would like Entourage to remember your password. Click the arrow to advance to the next screen.

    Enter Covenant ISP into the Account Name box and check the option to Include this account in my "Send & Receive All" schedule.

    Click Finish to save your changes and return to Entourage.

     


    Help us help you! If you contact Covenant ISP support for assistance please write down any error messages you get when trying to connect to the Internet. Include the name and version of your operating system and the exact text of all error messages. If this information is included in an online case submission or provided to a support representative, it will greatly speed up the troubleshooting process.

    Please be aware that some troubleshooting may require uninstallation and reinstallation of operating system files. To ensure that this type of troubleshooting can be accomplished if required, please be sure that you have to have original Operating System CD or Operating system source files on disk on hand.
