Dial-up Password is not Saved or Unavailable

Option available but not working

For the Save Password option to work, you must successfully connect to the Internet at least once with the option checked before Windows will save your PASSWORD. This also means that if you have more than one dial-up connection, you need to establish at least one successful connection with each one, even if your password is the same for all profiles.

Option not available or grayed out

  • Click on Start
  • Click on Log Off
  • Click OK

Include the name and version of your operating system and the exact text of all error messages. If this information is included in an online case submission or provided to a support representative, it will greatly speed up the troubleshooting process.

Please be aware that some troubleshooting may require uninstallation and reinstallation of operating system files. To ensure that this type of troubleshooting can be accomplished if required, please be sure that you have to have original Operating System CD or Operating system source files on disk on hand.
